RED: The British Society for Rheumatology Guideline for the Management of Gout recommend that benzbromarone (and probenecid) are only available for the treatment of patients with gout in the UK on a named patient basis, and patients requiring these unlicensed drugs should be under the care of a Rheumatologist.Red Drug Classifications
